On Tuesday evening at 6:30PM on April 16 at the Beals Memorial Library, in Winchendon MA , I will be giving a presentation about the bald eagle restoration project that took place throughout the 1980’s at The Quabbin Reservoir. MassWildlife released a total of 41 immature bald eagles at the Quabbin with hopes to restore the bald eagle to Massachusetts as a nesting specie. The last known bald eagle nest was in 1906 on Cape Cod. You’ve seen eagles at Quabbin and all around Massachusetts now,, but do you know the story behind them getting there? I do ! I was part of it. Come by and see the whole process from when the birds are brought as chicks to the Prescott Peninsula “hack site” on Quabbin, until they are released into the wild 6 weeks later.

.ATHOL, MA…..Thiis program is part of the OPEN HOUSE the ATHOL BIRD AND NATURE CLUB presents every Sunday afternoon throughout the winter months the show starts between 1:30 and 2.

The annual Holiday Craft Fair will be held Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Warwick Community School, 41 Winchester Rd. in Warwick MA, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Local craftspeople will offer a variety of handmade products for Christmas gifts.

“Secrets of the Quabbin Watershed” is a book released by Dale Monette and Haley Publishing in September of 2017. Dale has spent 0ver 4 years with many thousands of hours on the 82,000 acre Quabbin Reservoir watershed in central MA photographing wildlife and now 130 of his best photographs will be released in a beautiful book.
